If your hotel is near Hamamatsucho or the Tokyo Bay area, you can simply exit the station and walk to your accommodation.
This is the Central Exit. To the right is the JR transfer point, and to the left is the exit.
🚫 Common Mistake at Hamamatsucho (REAL CASE)
When I visited the Tokyo Monorail transfer gate at Hamamatsucho, I spoke with three different groups of travelers.
All of them had the same problem.
They had only bought a ticket from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho — but tried to transfer directly to JR lines.
As a result, they got stuck at the transfer gate.

❗ If your ticket is only to Hamamatsucho, the gate will not open.
👉 Use the fare adjustment machine or exit and buy a JR ticket.
Use these machines to adjust your fare or If you have only purchased a ticket from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho Station, you must purchase an additional ticket to your final destination before proceeding to the transfer gate.(there is a transfer fare adjustment machine on the left side after descending the stairs.)
Also, if you are unable to pass through the transfer gate using your IC card, please top up your IC card.
A Monorail ticket only covers the ride from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho — JR lines require a separate fare.
If you are continuing your trip on JR lines, you will need to buy a separate ticket.
As a rough guide:
・Tokyo Station → 200 yen
・Shinjuku Station → 260 yen

The south exit is similarly arranged, with the JR line on the right and the station exit on the left.
If you’ve purchased a Welcome Suica card, transfers will be smooth.
However, many visitors transfer to the Yamanote Line to reach other parts of Tokyo.
The transfer is very easy and usually takes only a few minutes.
After exiting the monorail platform, simply follow the signs for JR Lines.
The route is clearly marked, and there are no complicated passages.

🚇 Alternative Route: Walk to Daimon Station (Toei Subway)

Due to ongoing construction at the monorail station building, the passageway leading to the exit is currently narrow. Please be mindful of left-side traffic.
To the left of the exit is Daimon Station on the Toei Asakusa Line. Tokyo Tower is also visible nearby.
If you didn’t get an IC card at the airport, you may be able to get one at Daimon Station.
👶 Child IC Cards (Important)
If you are traveling with children, you can get a child IC card at the station.
These cards are issued as registered cards, and you need to go to the ticket office.
👶 Child Fares in Japan
You may be asked to show identification (such as a passport) to confirm the child’s age.
Child fares are about half the adult price, so it’s worth getting one.
Children under 6 can travel for free (if they don’t occupy a separate seat).
Elementary school children (6–11) pay about half the adult fare.
From age 12, the adult fare applies.
Perfect for Travelers Staying Near Tokyo Bay
Many international visitors stay in hotels around the Tokyo Bay area near Hamamatsucho.
